Making the Cake
This caramel cake is surprisingly easy to make, with only a few simple ingredients. Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9-inch (23cm) round cake tin with parchment paper. In a large bowl, whisk together the butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla until light and creamy. Slowly add in the flour and baking powder until everything is combined. Pour the batter into the tin and bake for 30 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
The Caramel Sauce
The caramel sauce is what really makes this cake special. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter, sugar and cream together over medium-high heat. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove the pan from the heat and let the caramel cool slightly before pouring it over the top of the cake.
The Result
The result is a delicious and decadent caramel cake that will make your taste buds explode. The combination of the moist cake and the sticky, sweet caramel is truly something special. When you serve it up, you won't believe what happens next – everyone will be reaching out for seconds!
