Ingredients
This Easter cake recipe requires the following ingredients: 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 3/4 cup of butter, melted, 2 large eggs, 2 cups of white sugar, 1 cup of sour cream, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, and 1 cup of chopped walnuts.
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 9-inch springform pan. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In a separate bowl, beat together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the sour cream and vanilla. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Fold in the walnuts. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Icing
Once the cake has cooled, make the icing. In a medium bowl, combine 1/2 cup of butter, softened, 3 cups of powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 2-3 tablespoons of milk. Beat until light and fluffy. Spread the icing over the cooled cake and decorate with Easter-themed candies. Enjoy!
