Ingredients You'll Need
To make this delicious honey bun cake, you'll need: 1 box of yellow cake mix, 1/2 cup vegetable oil, 3 eggs, 1/2 cup of packed light brown sugar, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/3 cup butter, 1/3 cup honey, and 1/2 cup chopped walnuts.
Preparing the Cake
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 9-inch square baking pan. In a large bowl, mix together the cake mix, oil, and eggs until blended. Spread the batter into the prepared baking pan. Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon over the top. In a small saucepan, melt the butter and honey together over medium heat. Drizzle the butter and honey mixture over the cake batter. Sprinkle the walnuts over the top of the cake.
Baking and Serving
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool the cake in the pan for 15 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely. Serve the cake warm or at room temperature with a dollop of whipped cream. Enjoy!
