A Prehistoric Treat How to Bake an Epic Dinosaur Cake Thatll Have Everyone Roaring for More

Dinosaur Cake

Ingredients

To make your prehistoric treat, you'll need the following ingredients:

  • One box of your favorite vanilla cake mix
  • One egg
  • Vegetable oil
  • Water
  • Green, blue, and yellow food coloring
  • Vanilla buttercream frosting
  • One package of dinosaur-shaped gummy candies
  • Green, blue, and yellow fondant

Baking the Cake

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour two 8-inch circular cake pans. Mix the cake mix, egg, oil, and water according to the instructions on the box. Divide the batter evenly between the two pans. Add a few drops of each color of food coloring to each pan and swirl it in with a knife to create a marbled effect. Bake the cakes for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Assembling the Cake

Once the cakes have cooled, place one of the cakes on a large plate or cake stand. Spread a generous layer of buttercream frosting onto the top of the cake. Place the other cake on top of the frosted layer. Cover the cake with a thin layer of buttercream frosting. Place the dinosaur gummy candies around the sides of the cake and place two in the center.

Fondant Toppers

Roll out the green, blue, and yellow fondant and use a small dinosaur-shaped cookie cutter to cut out pieces. Place the fondant toppers onto the top of the cake. Once you've finished, your prehistoric treat is ready to be enjoyed!
